OVERVIEW
Montronics Enterprises presents another new innovation for the mailing industry, the SGR Feeder System. The SGR feeder system was design to process multiple cut sheet documents, for delivery to a insert processing base. This system has all to components required to process a printed stack of multiple documents. The feeder system will take the stack of printed documents; Separate the individual documents, accumulate them, and then fold them for insert base processing. All these processes are contained in one modular section that encompasses a more form factored footprint.
The single system controller has all the tools required to perform all the necessary tasks to meet this end. Which also has multiple interfaces that are required for full system communication of data and system set-ups.
COMPONENT SUMMARY
Montronics SGR feeder has been designed around proven modern technology. The heart of the drive components is based around the API Turbo® Stepping system that contains only four components, thus simplified power with extreme longevity. Since the API Turbo® stepping system has no maintenance or calibration requirements, will add up to increased production with no additional reoccurring costs.
The other two drive components are KB Penta Power® PWM DC drive systems, that provide increased variable power at a lower temperatures. These drives have a great reputation for increasing motor longevity, while radically decreasing brush destroying arcing. This also plays a big role reducing system disruptive stray electrical noise, that has been known to create problems in system operation.
With the addition of high end industrial strength drive train components, like shafts, bearings, belts, and pulleys, makes this system more than ready to stand up the harshest of conditions without falter.
FEEDER COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
The SGR feeder system is comprised of new multiple self contained modular integrated sub systems. One panel contains the entire feeder operational control, that has a 16 keypad, and a 80 character LCD display. A remote system control panel provides the operational buttons & indicators to control and monitor full system operation. A KB PWM DC driven Bison® variable speed Motor/Gearbox drives a 24" conveyor, that gives the operator full range of feed speeds.
The Singulator section is driven by the API Turbo® Stepping system, that delivers safe ultra fast response to the strip off belts. The API Turbo® Stepper drive and motor provide the adjustable slow ramp acceleration necessary to proper paper processing.
The Transport section is comprised of the KB Penta Power® PWM DC drive system, and the high rpm Banner® motor. This combination gives the operator full access to the variable speed operation, that will always be a benefit when having to adjust for varying material challenges.
At the heart of the 1st page staging assembly is the indestructible Ledex® rotary positional solenoid. Which drives bearing supported levers that will deliver an accurately response every time, with a minute amount of motion. This extenuates the operation of the material flow, simple, accurate, and reliable.
The Accumulator section also incorporates API Turbo® Stepper drive system and motor. This provides an almost perfect ensemble of electro/mechanical assemblies to perform all the functions required for superior processing.
All sensors and switches are made by Banner® and Microswitch® self contained sensor components, which adds greater reliability and durability than most other products.
All drives and power management components are Circuit Breaker protected, and are mounted uniformly on a panel, along with a Corcom® Line Filter, and AC power switch.
All this equates to a fast accurate operation, which equates to high production with a minimal overhead.
OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS
The operator has the choice of being able to make changes to the operation of the SGR feeder via the operator panel, or the optional Operator Control panel via a computer system. From system operation of the reading control to the type of reading collation.
The SGR feeder itself has very flexible hardware that allows the operator to make adjustments to accommodate various form sizes.
Features include
A highly informative and interactive LCD display screen, that assists the operator in set-up and operation of the system. The display indicates push button actions, set-up stages, job set-up settings, cycling stages, and error status. All this adds up to fast easy set-up and performance which will equate to raw performance and substantial gain in production.
An Auto-phasing feature, that allows the operator load material in the conveyor, hit start, and the entire material load up process is performed leaving the first document ready for base processing.
All drives have precision fine position adjustment features, that allows the operator the ease and accuracy of fine adjustments.
A single Board controller for all functions of the in feed operation. That entails; OMR Reading, Batching, Feeder operation, Folder operation, Output operation (Collector), BCR Reader interface, optional interfaces, and Data interface.
A single cable interface to other control systems, such as Insert base controllers, or computers.
INTERFACE CONTROL
As standard, the system comes with a Montronics Base Controller that interfaces to a Bell + Howell base inserter, so integrating the system maintains all current operations. Also standard is the "Stand Alone" mode with Batch count capability. This feature allows the feeder system to feed a specified number of sets between a set pause, which can also be held until a trigger pulse is received.
DISCOUNTED BASIC PRICING
The current cost for the basic SGR Feeder, with batch control, is offered at this time at a substantial reduced price of $28,500.00 per unit from the normal list price of $33,500.00. Even though this reduced cost does not include any additional options or features, discounts would be applied to any additional options or features. We provide detailed system preparation documentation, as well as operator guides, technical guides, and schematics.
ULTIMATE CONCLUSION
In conclusion the cost for this SGR Feeder is insignificant in comparison to the costs in parts, labor, and down time that can and will occur in the future. In further consideration, compare these prices with the prices of other new feeder systems that range from $45,000.00 to $90,000.00. When you stop to consider this, you will receive a new feeder system for a little more than a 1/3th of the cost of a new system. With performance guaranteed to exceed current performance standards other like systems, it's a no brainer.
Additional options that can be purchased and upgraded at any time:
SYSTEM
You have several choices for adding an optional read system. The system comes standard with Batch control, but can be upgraded to perform reading operations in OMR, BCR, or 2D.
The system also comes standard with interfacing to Montronics insert base controller, that controls a Bell+Howell Insert base. But you can make requests for special interfacing to any Insert base controller, or other output devise. Such as; Data card processors, Nestor system, Stitcher system, Printer, or any other devise you can imagine.
BASE CONTROLLER
Since the standard interface is to a Montronics insert base controller (Bell+Howell base), Montronics recommends the installation of the optional base controller for your inserting system.
Retrofit Specifics:
1. Manufacturer: Montronics, in conjunction with; Applied Motion, KB Penta, Banner, BEI, and Microswitch.
2. Warranty:
90 days on all components, and 1 Year on CPEA2C Intelligent controller.
3. Delivery:
